Prepare the grid before kickoff
Write the two team names above and beside the grid. Invite guests to put their first names or initials in empty squares. One person may use more than one square if the group is small. Once names are in place, assign the digits zero through nine across the top and down the left side in any agreed order. Use each digit once on each axis.
Follow four shared checkpoints
At the end of each quarter, write the current score in the checkpoint table. Take the final digit of each team's score and find where the matching row and column meet. Read the initials in that square aloud and mark the checkpoint for the group. The activity is simply a way to follow the changing score together during a casual party.
Keep the sheet easy to read
The PDF uses landscape Letter paper so the grid has room for short names. Print at actual size and test a copy before guests arrive. The spreadsheet provides the same blank grid for typing names and axis digits. It does not fetch scores or choose a matching cell automatically. Keep a fresh copy of the file for another game and agree who will record the scores.
